1. What Data We Collect

a. Audio Data

• We temporarily capture your device's microphone audio only when Sentlio is active and you’ve explicitly granted microphone permission.
• The audio is used in real-time to transcribe your speech using AI services (e.g., OpenAI Whisper API) for assistance. We do not store raw audio permanently.

b. Screen Data

• If enabled, we access the content displayed on your screen.
• Sentlio uses this information to understand visual context (e.g., slides, browser text) and provide better responses.
• We do not record or save screenshots unless you explicitly trigger it.

c. Transcriptions & Text Input

• Your spoken audio is converted to text in real-time.
• These transcripts may be sent securely to AI services (like OpenAI) to generate smart suggestions.
• We may store anonymized transcripts to improve performance or troubleshoot bugs (optional & configurable).

d. App Usage Data

• We collect basic usage metrics (e.g., feature usage, crashes, and session time) to improve Sentlio.
• All data is aggregated and does not include personal identifiers.

e. Account and Billing Info

• If you create an account or upgrade to a paid plan, we may collect:
  • Name, email, and payment details (processed via Stripe or other secure payment gateways).
  • We never store full credit card numbers.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• Provide real-time assistance during conversations.
• Personalize user experience.
• Improve Sentlio’s features and performance.
• Send account-related notifications.
• Detect and fix technical issues.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to deliver Sentlio’s functionality:

• OpenAI for language generation.
• Whisper/OpenAI for real-time audio transcription.
• Stripe for payment processing.
• Sentry or LogRocket (if enabled) for error monitoring.

These services may receive portions of your data (e.g., text or payment info) depending on your use of Sentlio. All integrations comply with strict privacy and security standards.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Audio and screen data is processed in-memory and not stored unless explicitly saved by the user.
• Any stored data (e.g., user preferences, anonymized logs) is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• We use secure cloud services (e.g., AWS, Firebase) with industry-standard protections.
• We never sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

5. User Controls

You are in control:

• Microphone Access: Required to enable transcription. You can revoke it anytime via System Preferences.
• Screen Access: Optional and always user-approved.
• Delete Account/Data: You may request account or data deletion anytime by contacting [your email].

6. Children's Privacy

Sentlio is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover such data, it will be deleted immediately.

7. Compliance

• GDPR: Users in the EU have the right to request, correct, or delete their data.
• CCPA: California residents may request disclosures of personal data and request deletion.
• macOS Permissions: Sentlio fully complies with Apple’s privacy guidelines and requests permissions explicitly through macOS’s native system prompts.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Effective Date" and will be effective as soon as it is accessible.
